Motivation talk giving back to the La Salle School

KOTA KINABALU: A Motivation Talk organised by Association of Ex-Students of La Salle and Sacred Heart on July 8, at Sekolah Menengah La Salle Hall (senior block of the school), Tanjung Aru.

The programme was attended by 170 form 5 students. 

The motivation talk and sharing was part of a series of educational programmes targeted at schools in Sabah organized by the alumni’s education bureau, headed by Dr Rafiq Idris, a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Business, Economics and Accountancy, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. 

Dr. Rafiq Idris who is also the Chairman of Sabah Economic and Education Society emphasized that students needed motivation from time to time to 'recharge their battery' and to keep their momentum on their interest for study. 

In addition to Dr Rafiq’s sharing, the motivation talk was followed by a sharing by the Alumni president, Mr Herman Yee. 

During the talk, Dr Rafiq  shared his personal experience and gave some tips for students and stressed the need to give their best in whatever they do. 

Herman Yee shared his personal experience and the education journey as La Sallian. The sense of belonging as La Sallian were also being emphasized during the event. 

The objectives of the programme among others were to motivate students on the importance of giving their best in their studies, tertiary education in general and the professions that they could pursue. 

According to Dr Rafiq, “Motivation Talk by alumni is part of giving back to the La Salle School” This have been instilled into us as La Sallians.” 

Rafiq added, “the school Headmaster, Madam Mary and Cikgu Idris Awang have been very supportive."-PR
