MATTA Fair Promotes Sabah Tourism with New Sustainable Packages and Exclusive Deals

KOTA KINABALU: The MATTA Fair Sabah 2026 is set to take place from 18 to 20 September at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), offering visitors a wide array of travel opportunities and exclusive deals. 

Organising Chairman Mohd Azlan Saleh highlighted the event’s diverse attractions, stating, “Visitors can look forward to a host of exciting features, including exclusive travel packages and promotions, both domestic and international holiday destinations, airline and accommodation deals, as well as family and leisure holiday options.”

He added, “The fair will also showcase adventure and nature-based experiences, cruise and island holidays, and community-focused, sustainable tourism experiences. Notably, this year we are introducing sustainable tourism packages to the public for the first time, although the concept has been practised in the region in the past.” 

Mohd Azlan  further explained, “There will be special offers from participating travel agencies, along with the launch of CoBT’s sustainable tourism package at the STB Pavilion.” 

Attendees will have the chance to participate in lucky draws and various engaging activities, as well as meet travel professionals to plan their next holiday. He emphasised the event’s significance in promoting Sabah, saying, “This fair provides a valuable opportunity for visitors to discover more of Sabah as part of the Visit Sabah 2027 – ‘Explore Sabah’ initiative, helping to boost tourism and economic growth in the region.”
