JCI Intan Celebrates 50 Years of Youth Leadership in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Intan, an all-female chapter, will celebrate its Golden Jubilee with the theme "Strengthening Youth Leadership in a Global Ecosystem" on 18 September at the Pacific Sutera Hotel here.

A six-member delegation from the organising committee, led by Chairperson JCI Senator Chai Moi Len, paid a courtesy call on the Head of State, Tun Musa Aman, at Istana Seri Kinabalu on Wednesday to invite him to honour the momentous occasion.

Briefing the Sabah Governor, Chai, a former President of JCI Intan (1982-1983), expressed that the event would be an excellent opportunity to showcase the organisation’s legacy, honour the pioneers who tirelessly laid its foundations, recognise the invaluable contributions of past presidents and members, and celebrate the journey that has shaped JCI Intan into what it is today.

"Highlights of the celebration include the launch of a yearbook featuring the success stories of 50 presidents during their respective terms, an exhibition showcasing the chapter’s activities and projects, a video presentation highlighting programmes and achievements over the past five decades, and a cake-cutting ceremony," she said.

Other members of the delegation included past Presidents JCI Sen Datuk Christine Vanhouten (1979), JCI Sen Datuk Amisah Yassin (1984-1985), JCI Sen Alice Kunjan (1993-1994), JCI Sen Muriel Koh (2000), and JCI Janet Boyou (2002).
